YOUNG WRITER

The competition is aimed at writers from junior to senior years in school and encourages students to use their writing skills, creativity and imagination along the theme of ‘The future is in your hands’. Students can submit poetry or stories.

Age groups:

Ages to be taken on 31st of August 2009

Junior:              7- 10 year old               Maximum words is 500

Intermediate:    11-13 year old               Maximum words is 800

Senior:             14-17 year old               Maximum words is 1600

Entries will be judged on:

Use of language, Vocabulary, Consistency of subject/story, Interest, Ability to complete work in the required number of words

Important dates:

Club entries application closing dates: February 2010

Selection of Club winner: early March 2010

District winners: Late March 2010

RIBI final: May 2010
