YOUNG PHOTOGRAPHER The young photographer competition aims to encourage students to experiment with photography. Students submit a photograph based on the theme ‘The future is in your hands’ with a maximum 50 word explanation of their interpretation. There are 3 age categories, with ages taken on the 31st of August 2009 Junior: aged 7 – 10 Intermediate: aged 11 – 13 Senior: aged 14 – 17 Entrants will be asked to submit a single print, either colour or black and white, no larger than A4 size. In addition each entrant may explain in no more than 50 words, what inspired them to take the photograph. Judging will be done by a panel of judges, with at least one independent non-Rotary person; perhaps a press photographer. They will view the entries in each age category and consider: The technical merit, Content and composition, Imagination and style The judges will then award a prize to the ‘best photograph’ in each age category and one to the ‘best overall photograph’ Winning entries will be published in our district magazine COGS. The district winner will also represent our district at the RIBI Final.
